DESCRIPTION:The GOS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Fourth Practical Cadaveric Dissection Course\, to be held at the Human Lab of Palazzo Trecchi in Cremona on November 7\, 8 and 9\, 2026.\nIn keeping with the spirit of GOS\, the three modules of theoretical introduction and practical cadaveric dissection will feature a faculty composed entirely of young specialists with proven expertise in the relevant field.\nThe theoretical component\, organized as a webinar\, will consist of an in-depth review of surgical anatomy designed to provide participants with the foundational knowledge corresponding to the three dissection modules: \n• Dissection of the cervicofacial district (salivary glands\, cervical lymph nodes\, larynx\, etc.)\n• Endoscopic dissection of the nasal-sinus district and anterior skull base\n• Microsurgical dissection of the middle/inner ear and lateral skull base \nEach module will also include a masterclass lecture delivered by experienced colleagues of national standing\, focused on correct pre-operative planning\, surgical indications\, and management of intraoperative complications.\nDissection will be performed on fresh-frozen anatomical specimens (1 specimen per 2 participants)\, structured around the systematic repetition of pre-recorded dissection/surgical steps. Each station will be equipped with high-quality surgical\ninstruments capable of faithfully simulating open\, endoscopic and microscopic procedures as performed in the operating room. DESCRIPTION:The aim of this advanced course is to deepen anatomical and surgical knowledge of the petrous bone and lateral skull base through hands-on dissection of fresh-frozen specimens using multiple surgical approaches.\nThe course emphasizes the integrated use and comparison of modern visualization technologies\, including the operating microscope\, exoscope\, and endoscope. In addition\, participants will have the opportunity to handle and test a wide range of\ncontemporary surgical materials and prosthetic devices\, including bioactive glass for mastoid obliteration\, stapes prostheses\, TORP and PORP prostheses\, and cochlear implant arrays.\nThe educational program consists of both theoretical and practical components.\nThe theoretical sessions\, delivered remotely prior to the hands-on course\, includes 7 webinars that will focus on advanced surgical techniques\, current indications\, and the latest developments in technologies and materials.\nThe practical session includes two full days of step-by-step anatomical dissections\, supported by high-quality anatomical videos and live dissections at a dedicated master station. Ten individual dissection stations will be available\, each equipped\nwith an operating microscope. One master station\, integrating microscope\, endoscope\, and exoscope\, will demonstrate surgical steps and will also be available for hands-on dissection on a rotational basis.\nDissections will start from the middle ear and mastoid and progress to the inner ear\, petrous bone\, and lateral skull base.\nElectrodes for cochlear implant simulation and biocompatible materials for mastoid cavity obliteration will be provided.\nParticipants will be continuously supervised and mentored by experienced faculty throughout the practical exercises.

DESCRIPTION:IFOS Among Global Organisations Supporting the 4th World Tinnitus Congress \nThe International Federation of Otorhinolaryngological Societies (IFOS) is pleased to be among a group of leading international organisations supporting the 4th World Tinnitus Congress (WTC) and 15th International Tinnitus Seminar\, alongside the International Society of Audiology\, the American Academy of Audiology\, Tinnitus UK\, and RNID. \nTaking place from 30 June to 2 July 2027 in London\, this landmark event — the first WTC ever to be held in the United Kingdom — will be guided by the theme “From Mechanism to Meaning – The ABC of Tinnitus”\, emphasising the integration of Auditory science\, Behavioural understanding\, and Clinical innovation. It also marks the return of the International Tinnitus Seminar to London for the first time since Professor Jonathan Hazell hosted the meeting in 1999 — a moment of special significance for the global tinnitus community and for UK-based professionals. \nThe scientific programme spans 11 thematic tracks\, each led by internationally recognised experts. Of particular relevance to ENT specialists is Track 10: Medical and Vascular Aetiologies of Tinnitus\, led by Professor Nish Mehta (UCL Ear Institute) and Dr Alain Londero (France)\, covering Meniere’s disease\, otosclerosis\, acoustic neuroma\, and pulsatile tinnitus.
