Oropharyngeal Dysphagia (OD) is a condition of difficult swallowing that is still insufficiently diagnosed and treated\, and represents a significant public health problem. It is estimated that more than 30 mil. Europeans suffer from this disorder. The most vulnerable groups are people over 75 years of age\, patients with neurological and neurodegenerative diseases\, and patients with head and neck cancer. Proper diagnostics and treatment of this disorder are necessary in order to avoid life-threatening complications such as aspiration pneumonia\, dehydration and malnutrition. However\, eating is important not just for meeting the fundamental survival needs but also because of social activity related to eating in company of relatives and friends. It cannot be underestimated that bonding with family and close community during meals on a regular basis with the idea/mindset of enjoying and sharing food\, is the way to promote greater physical wellbeing and to serve our emotional wellbeing. Therefore\, numerous educational programs at different levels are being conducted throughout the EU today\, with specialists of various specialties participating in them.

For participants will be prepared temporal bone and fully equipped stage for the dissection. The course is dedicated to the beginning otologist\, but it would be preferable to have some basic experience with the temporal bone anatomy and dissection. The participants will have the chance to practice canaloplasty\, mastoidectomy\, posterior tympanotomy\, insertion of the electrode of the cochlear implant on model as well as in cadaveric bone\, different techniques of the ossiculoplasty\, canal wall up and down technique\, visualization of the facial nerve anatomy\, exposure of the carotid artery\, jugular bulb\, Eustachian tube\, translabyrinthine and middle fossa approach to the internal meatus. Participants can also try the 3D Temporal bone simulator.

The topics regard both the educational aspects that promote the professional acquisitions of the young ENT specialists\, and the frontiers of knowledge in the sphere of ear\, nose and head and neck district. Temporal Bone Dissection Courses will be available for local and foreign young ENT specialists with special interest in otology. Also surgery will be covered\, with the surgical approach for borderline pathologies between paranasal sinuses and anterior skull base\, with all the modern technological advancements in the field (endoscope\, electrical scalpels\, debrider\, etc.). Regarding head and neck\, particular emphasis will be put on the modern therapeutical approaches for treatment of cancer\, especially in the field of Medicine of Precision or Personalised Medicine.
